Robert Walsh Founder, Excalibur Solutions STEM Academy® Robert, a former mathematics teacher, has worked as a hardware technician, an IT director, a trainer, a programmer, a software tester, a technical writer, and a business owner. He holds a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education, as well as an MEd in STEM Leadership. He has presented at numerous software development and testing conferences and has had multiple articles published on these subjects. His unique blend of skills in education, technology, and business allows him to communicate effectively with people with diverse backgrounds. He relates to each as an individual, capitalizing on their unique goals and desired outcomes.

Securing Your Child’s Seat at the Table: Defending Against a Tech Takeover
Technology is everywhere, and it seems to be very opinionated! The algorithms that power search engines, social media, and advertising determine what we see and how often. While computers are serving the content, they’re simply following instructions given by the people coding and tweaking these algorithms. Their viewpoints and perspectives sometimes (maybe even often) influence the results.
As a Christian homeschooler, you’re part of two groups whose views are not always fairly or equally represented in our information-driven society. This session will focus on the importance of raising a new generation prepared to shape the messaging provided by tomorrow’s technology.
