Notable Convention Speakers

Did you know that MassHOPE has been serving the Massachusetts Christian homeschool community for over 37 years? To commemorate this milestone, we thought it would be timely and encouraging to highlight some of the amazing homeschool speakers that have been featured at our conventions. We will be periodically updating this page with convention sessions, so check back often for new material.
Below you will find Karen Stobaugh’s message “Buy We Had Hoped… The Homeschool Prodigal” from our 2011 convention. We trust that this timely message will be a blessing and an encouragement to your family.

Karen Stobaugh
We all love the happy homeschooling stories, but what about the ones that don’t have the endings we envisioned? After years of faithfully homeschooling, what if our best efforts seem to fail—what if our child chooses not to walk with God? Karen Stobaugh explores these deep questions by looking at the lives of Absalom and the Prodigal Son. She also shares personal stories, including her struggles with her oldest daughter, and invites you to bring your honest questions and struggles to the Lord.
